    Salut,

    “About Memories:
Three visionary sci-fi short stories by Katsuhiro Otomo, the creator of Akira, are brought to life by the top animation studios in Japan. Featuring a script by Satoshi Kon and direction by Otomo himself.”

I watched Magnetic Rose years ago. That kitchen table scene – especially at 28:07
when he realizes something’s wrong – is forever burned into my memory.
The whole thing is an incredible work of animation, and has such a
compelling, haunting story. It’s a cautionary tale about escapism, and
how dwelling too much on past failures and losses is inherently
self-destructive. There are some things you’ll never be able to get
back, no matter how close or real it seems. And while technology can
help us preserve the best memories, it can also trap and prevent us from
    moving on by preserving the worst. Despite it all, we’re still mortal;
once we’re gone, all that’s left are the stories and memories others
have chosen to pass on… Kind of like this video. Thank you for posting
and introducing Magnetic Rose to new
    audiences!</yt-formatted-string> Polymathically

Magnetic Rose is a masterpiece of animation. Satoshi Kon made an
incredible script that took too many liberties with respect to Ootomo’s
manga (improving it a lot), Youko Kanno’s music that goes perfectly with
the dark and intriguing setting, Mitsuo Iso’s great prop designs,
overly detailed and gorgeous background designs, the beautiful realistic
designs of Toshiyuki Inoue and the great effort to make this project
have an impeccable animation following the Nakamura school of realistic
animation, with Inoue redrawing from scratch about half a movie based on
corrections, perfect animation sequences of Hiroyuki Okiura, Hideki
Hamasu, Kouichi Arai and Hisashi Eguchi, and of course all this would
not have been possible without the direction of Kouji
    Morimoto.</yt-formatted-string> Prax

    @Kitsunebi
